2014 wedding Season | Alberta & Destination Wedding Photographer

As I am in the middle of my wedding season 2015, patiently waiting for my computer to catch up.................I had some time to reflect on the year thus far and past years. Weddings all over Alberta and Destination wedding in Mexico, Dominican and Costa Rica, what an amazing ride it has been. Each year is filled with new faces, new love and new stories, each unique and romantic in there own way. From time to time even old faces, bridesmaids from past weddings that I now get the pleasure of capturing, which just makes it even more special.

Each year fills my heart and soul, how could it not so much love, smiles and laughter and the best part...........I get the honor of capturing it all for years to come. My Brides and Grooms hold a special spot in my heart, I treasure their love stories forever feeling like they are a part of my own family. I recently listened to a speaker talk about community with our clients and how truly understanding someones story is what makes our art that much more meaningful.
This is one of my biggest goals at a consult and the time leading up to a wedding. I want to know you, your soulmate, your connection together,  your family and what you hold dear. Everyone has their own fairy tale and it is those details that I look for and the way my clients open up that allow me to bring it to life.

I could document a wedding day, be the hired photographer that everyone looks sideways at, constantly looking for that in, just getting what I need. The wedding day would still be there for all to see, documented and archived in all it's beauty.
YA RIGHT..............I prefer smiles, laughter, hugs and tears. Having a bride that trust's me like one of her bridesmaids and light's up to see me, a mother who doesn't hold back her emotions and leans on me behind doorways as she gives her child away, a groom that looks to me for solid ground as he awaits the best moment of his life. A bride and groom that show all their love for the world to see. A fairy tale unfolding before your very eyes!

That's where you'll find me!

Don't get me wrong I have done the other, it has happened and it makes me sad. "You can't win them all", attitude doesn't work me. For me I did something wrong along the way and forever will analyze it (driving my husband insane).
Ever want to know how much I hold each and every client dear......ask my husband he knows their whole life stories as I can't help but talk about all their joy.

Thank you to all my past and present brides and grooms, it is you who makes my season worth it and it is you who reminds me daily what love and life is all about!

Here's a tribute to the AJ Brides and Grooms of 2014, pssst this is long but they all deserve it. Happy 1st Anniversary to you and thank you for letting me be a part of it all.

Stony Plain engagment & Wedding photographer | AJ photogrphy | J&B are set to tie the knot

I have worked along side Jenelle in Leduc for about 5 years, truly an incredible women, full of life and smiles. she has always been such a huge supporter in what I do. We have shared many laughs, stories and memories; this women is strong willed, would give her all for anyone and never stops.
When she met Brendan it was set, though she tried to keep it on the down low, the 2 just clicked and there was no stopping what was to come. I couldn't be happier for the 2 of you and still remember the day she told me they were engaged, I am not sure what sparkled more the twinkle in her eye or the ring.
Brendan is a lot quieter then Jenelle and the contrast compliments them well, but don't be fooled if he can sneak a one liner or his 2 cents in he will and before you know it I am in stitches still realizing what was just said.

You both are amazing people, the smiles you share when you look at each other puts me in awe every time. I am so happy and privileged to be such a big part of your upcoming wedding day and look forward to all the good times to come.

T&J Vansickle Wedding | AJ Photography | Stony Plain Wedding Photographer

Went I first met Tracy and Jason in Leduc it was easy to see how simply meant for each other they were. I love sitting down with my clients and getting to know them and seeing their relationship with each other. It makes me truly smile as they exchange looks tell me their story and smile. With these two there was the added bonus of two wonderful children and I don't use that word lightly this two children were wonderful, easy going, happy kids. Tracey and Jason decided to add a hockey element to their wedding and with that we based their whole engagement session at a hockey rink, absolutely a blast.

I do this quite often with weddings as I think most do, I ask my groom how he's feeling as well as my bride and their responses did not surprise me but made me smile and feel warm inside.  Jason's face lit up and the smile came out followed by " I am so excited " and that he was that excitement and smile stayed with him all day like a kid at Christmas. Tracy when sitting in the chair getting her hair done simply look at me and herself in the mirror and said " I have no doubts that I have met my match and can't wait".

The wedding was so relaxed and beautiful, from the ceremony outside at Nisku Rec center to the always stunning Devonian Gardens. Although not attending the reception I had to capture the Hockey details that came together so beautifully. The entire bridal party and family were a treat, so helpful and happy to be a part of this day. You two are so welcoming, caring, and just amazing people, I was honored to be a part of your day. I wish you all the best in all that you do and hope you had a amazing honeymoon in Bora Bora (jealous).
